Fresh Cherry Crumble
Every summer when the cherries are in season, they are irresistible! You can make this dessert in a baking dish or in individual ramekins. Top with ice cream or whipped cream for a special treat!
Ingredients
4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Crumble Topping:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine the cherries, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
In another bowl, mix the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the cherries.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the cherry filling is bubbly.
Let it cool slightly before serving.
